Tranquil Jungle Mountain Retreat
We’ve been to Pu Luong 3 times and stayed at different homestays each visit. We’ll usually opt to stay at the places with the highest and most reviews. Secret Hideaways Pu Luong, having just opened in Feb of 2020 only had a couple reviews, although all were excellent, we had our doubts. This place is top notch though!!! Not only would we consider this the best homestay we’ve been to in Pu Luong, we would consider this the best stay we’ve been to in all of Vietnam in the last 2 years.
Secret Hideaways Pu Luong is tucked away on a jungle hillside that overlooks a beautiful terraced valley and mountains to the east where you’ll catch spectacular morning sunrises. It’s extremely quiet and private away from all the other homestays in the area, so it doesn’t have
the same touristy vibe as the main homestay area in Pu Luong.
Oh… and the food rivals some of the best restaurants I’ve eaten at in Vietnam. I almost hate to submit this review, because selfishly we’d like to keep this place our secret hideaway from Hanoi and we will most certainly be back!

Wonderful, peaceful place for family
We stayed in Secret Hideaways Pu Luong for the weekend, 2 adults and one 8-year old boy.
Great escape from busy Hanoi! It is such a peaceful place and a very nice bungalow. The team is very kind and helpful and speaks English well. We enjoyed the good food and made a very interesting one-day trek up the mountains, with fresh bbq chicken for lunch! The local guide could tell us a lot about the history of the area, very interesting! The bungalows are just next to a local village where there is no tourism yet. Very local and safe place! Thank you Secret
Hideaways team, see you next time!

Luxury and Tranquility
October is definitely one of the best times to come to Pu Luong. I had a lovely time at Lua Pu Luong. Lua was so helpful, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the setting was gorgeous. The food was so good!
And very important – though the style is a Vietnamese homestay, as a westerner I found the beds and privacy and warmth very comfortable. This is a place to rest, relax, and wander through the rice fields, the WiFi isn’t very strong which I loved because I find it hard to log off.
Check out the small waterfall nearby Ban Hieu, it’s not epic but it’s got lovely cold green water and is the kind of drive that’s just crazy enough for a good story but easy to find. Highly recommended
